I was rummaging through notes looking for my detailed plan for the day. One of the ways I take notes is to compose an email addressed to nobody, that never gets sent and just stays in my drafts box. I know it’s a weird system, but this is how I’ve been doing it since before note taking apps were invented. Today I open up my folder and see 839 drafts which isn’t bad. I do try to keep the nobody notes to a minimum, but some escape me when I’m too busy and they can stack up. I notice the first email of the draft list is titled “Evolved” and I pretty sure I say thank God out loud. I don’t always label my “notes” either when I’m in a hurry. I open the note and read just the few words that it contained and sigh because I have to remember everything I was thinking when I typed those words down.

This is not my detailed plan for the day, but it could be. My next thought is maybe I should change my plans and go with this because everything about this is exciting to me. I can’t change my plans because I will get behind in my work. So, I find my actual plan and complete what I set out to do for the day which includes playing with graphite while filming. I have one idea of what I want to do but when I get into right brain mode also called la la land, I do something else. After I finish, I realize that some of the essence of the note that I read earlier came through in my work today. The lesson is to always stay inspired with even the tiniest thing. It doesn’t matter where inspiration comes from if your soul is on fire and you’re getting things done. Also, it’s a reminder that you have to be careful of what you input because what comes in in the form of words, food, what you hear, see, etc. comes back out in your work and your relationships.
