I just got back from a cruise to Costa Maya and Cozumel. Somehow the sun felt different down there in Mexico. I was styling with a new hat, ray bans, and a pina colada in my hand. Every day I played with watercolor, charcoal, acrylic paint, sumi ink, and other supplies. I wasn’t worried about getting them all on board because I spent the good part of a day on the phone making sure I could take them before I went. I was however worried about the weight of my bags because I brought so much stuff.
It was wonderful to be in the creativity zone somewhat oblivious to what was going on. I had music in the background, the sound of laughter and the breeze which surrounded me like a big soft fuzzy blanket, and I love blankets. I also got to do this experience with close friends and family. I just kept cranking out the drawings and paintings like I was plugged into something big because I was. I was plugged into the energy of it all. All the colors, tastes, textures, sensations, sound, and all the dancing into the wee hours. I even had an hour-long full-body Swedish massage on paradise beach that practically put me to sleep. Just imagine the waves and the breeze with your muscles giving way to perfect pressure. It was divine!
Sometimes you just have to go away for a bit. I know It can be time consuming and costly to set everything up. Taking vacation days from work is something you have to coordinate and can’t just randomly take but it’s worth it. Sit down with a calendar and plan it all out with enough time to be able to save for it. Take that time for yourself because you are worth it. I have decided I am going to do it more often myself.
I am recharged
